What is it?
Hands-on English is a 16-to-20 page print publication mailed six times a year with practical teaching ideas, hints & tips, and copyable activities for the classroom. It's written by teachers for teachers and is 99% jargon-free! If you teach ESL, you'll need Hands-on English to make your job easier and more fun.

Who reads it?
Our readers include over 5,000 English as a Second Language (ESL/ESOL/EFL) teachers and tutors in many kinds of programs, including: Refugee programs, Literacy programs, Community Colleges, Correctional facilities, Resource centers,Adult Education programs, Volunteer tutoring, Intensive ESL programs, Teacher training programs, Religious organizations, Workers' unions, Community Education programs, Secondary schools, Workplace education, and more!

Who writes it?
The editor, Anna Silliman, has taught ESL to adults in many different settings and is familiar with the fun and the challenges involved in teaching ESL. Our contributors include experienced teachers and tutors, and many of the activities are sent in by our readers. HOE is by teachers, for teachers!
